#Omnidisksweeper old version install
I'm probably doing something wrong and missing something obvious as I'm a relatively new Mac user, but if anyone has any ideas before I do a new install then that would be very very appreciated! At the moment I have a shed load of gopro vids I want to edit but can't do that until I get some space to import them all!įor information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article.Įmpty the Trash if you haven't already done so. All the Disk Utility stuff verified/repaired disk permissions etc. All the usual emptying of trash on Mac, iPhoto, iMovie etc.Ħ. I've also been through and deleted a few recently installed apps that I thought might be causing issues (Final Cut, a rouge old version of iMovie that hadn't been removed on upgrade for some reason).ĥ. I've also downloaded Omni Disk Seeker to see if that showed different results, but it was largely the same as Disk Inventory X with its results.Ĥ. No sign of where the lost 100G could be coming from either:ģ.
Downloaded DIsk Inventory X - this shows what I'd expect but doesn't seem to replicate what the Mac is telling me (most of the usages is the users folder images, videos etc.) Here's the output from that: Turned off Time Machine - gained a little from this but need to really turn it back on again soon.Ģ. The laptop is only 6 months old and I haven't really pushed it yet! Things I've done:ġ. I know this is discussed all over the place, and I've been through the thread and done everything - but I still can't figure out what the **** is creating over 100G of "other" memory usage:
